- Grace Period Flexibility: During the 60-day grace period after completing OPT, students can transfer between academic stages, switch to another SEVP-certified school, or even apply for a change to a different non-immigrant or immigrant status.
- Post-Completion OPT Eligibility: Students can apply for post-completion OPT after earning an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree.
- Study Abroad Program Flexibility: If you are enrolled in a SEVP-certified school and your study abroad program is less than five months, you can remain active in SEVIS. For programs longer than five months, a new Form I-120 must be filed.
